Columbian Wyandotte Pullet

The Columbian Wyandotte is a striking chicken breed known for its unique and beautiful plumage, as well as its friendly and calm nature. A variation of the Wyandotte breed, the Columbian Wyandotte features a white body with black markings on the head, wings, and tail, giving it a striking "penciled" or laced appearance.

Key Features:

  • Appearance: Columbian Wyandottes have a white body with black or dark feathers around the neck, wings, and tail, creating a crisp contrast. They have a round, compact build with a single red comb and bright red wattles. Their smooth feathering and overall symmetrical appearance make them very attractive.

  • Size: They are a medium to large breed, with hens typically weighing around 6-7 lbs and roosters around 7-8 lbs. Despite their elegant appearance, they are sturdy birds with a solid, well-proportioned body.

  • Egg Production: Columbian Wyandottes are good layers, producing around 200-250 medium to large brown eggs per year. They are reliable and consistent layers, often continuing to lay well into the colder months.

  • Temperament: Known for their calm and friendly nature, Columbian Wyandottes are easy to handle and get along well with other chickens. They are not particularly flighty and have a relatively quiet disposition, making them ideal for families and beginner chicken keepers.

  • Hardiness: Like other Wyandotte varieties, the Columbian Wyandotte is hardy and can handle a variety of climates, including both hot and cold weather. They are resilient and adapt well to backyard environments.

  • PICKUP POLICY

    Pullet orders for pickup at our Stansbury location are available for pickup on Saturdays.

    The Wednesday before your scheduled pickup date, we will send a confirmation email that includes your final order details, verification that your pullets will be ready as expected, and any additional pickup instructions.

    All orders must be picked up on the Saturday they are scheduled. Orders not picked up on their scheduled date are considered abandoned and will not be rescheduled or refunded.
