Buyer Responsibilities
As a buyer of live animals, it is your responsibility to be fully prepared and informed on how to care for day‑old poultry before your order arrives. Chicks require a brooder equipped with adequate heat, clean bedding, fresh water, and appropriate feed. Buyers agree to read our Chick Care Guide and purchase all necessary supplies ahead of time.

You will select your preferred hatch date at checkout. Once your order is scheduled, you will receive an email confirmation. Customers must be available to pick up their chicks within 1–3 days after hatch day—either from the Post Office or our store—and promptly transfer them to a properly heated brooder so they begin eating and drinking.

Although we strive for accuracy, chick sexing is not guaranteed. Buyers assume the risk of receiving roosters and should plan for the possibility of receiving up to 10% males.
Heat Plates: Heat plates are not suitable for chicks that are shipped or picked up in-store. These chicks require significantly more warmth during their first two weeks than heat plates can provide. Only chicks hatched naturally under a hen may use heat plates.

Healthy Chick Guarantee
We guarantee you will receive the full count of healthy live birds ordered. For shipped orders, we may include extra chicks of similar breed and sex to help fulfill this guarantee.

If a loss occurs during shipment or before an in-store pickup—and you receive fewer live birds than ordered—we will provide a replacement (subject to breed availability) or issue a refund for the per-bird price. Losses must be reported within eight hours of receiving the shipment. Our guarantee cannot exceed the original purchase price of the poultry.
​
All shipments are marked to be held at the Post Office for pickup and must be collected promptly. Your primary and alternate phone numbers will be included on the shipping label. The Post Office may contact you early in the morning. Our guarantee is void if live parcels are not picked up within eight hours of arrival or before the Post Office closes.

We cannot provide refunds or replacements for losses after safe and timely delivery. Buyers should be aware that raising live poultry carries inherent risks, even with proper care. We do not guarantee survivability once chicks leave our store. Customers must inspect chicks at pickup—chicks cannot be returned once they leave the premises.
All Chase Hatchery stock is guaranteed to meet the grade, quality, and breed advertised. Any concerns will be promptly addressed.

Hatch dates are estimates. Should a hatch yield fewer chicks than expected, your order may be delayed or shorted. If shorted, you will receive a refund for any unfulfilled poultry. We appreciate your flexibility when working with live animals.

Shipped Orders
For shipped orders, select your preferred month and week. Orders will be placed in line for the next available ship date. While we do our best to honor your preferred timeframe, we cannot guarantee your order will ship during that exact period. You will receive an email confirmation once your order is scheduled.
​
Sexing Accuracy Guarantee
We offer a 90% sexing accuracy guarantee on all sexed breeds. Some breeds are easier to sex than others. If a sexing error exceeds the 10% allowance, we will issue a non-expiring store credit for the female price.
Claims must include a photo or video confirming you received a male. No credit will be issued without proof. No sexing guarantee applies to straight-run (unsexed) breeds.

Pick-Up Orders
Chick orders at our Stansbury location are available for pickup on Saturdays. While we make every effort to fulfill your preferred pickup date, please note that we cannot guarantee your order will be ready on that specific day. Once your pickup date is confirmed, you will receive an email confirmation.

The Friday before your scheduled pickup, we will send a second confirmation email that includes your final order details, verification that your chicks hatched as expected, and any additional pickup instructions.
​
All orders must be picked up on the Saturday they are scheduled. Orders not picked up on their scheduled date are considered abandoned and will not be rescheduled or refunded.
​
If your order includes a shortage (a breed that did not hatch as expected), the remaining chicks on your order must still be picked up as scheduled. For any chicks unavailable due to a hatch shortage, you may choose one of the following options at pickup:

Replace the shortage with chicks currently in stock, or

Move the unavailable chicks to a future pickup date.

Extra chicks available for same-day pickup will be posted weekly. Orders placed for extra chicks must be picked up that Saturday during store hours (10:00–3:00). There are no refunds or rescheduling for missed pickups.
​
There is no guarantee of survivability once poultry leaves our store. Check your chicks carefully before leaving.
​
If hatch numbers differ unexpectedly, we will contact you prior to pickup to arrange replacements, store credit, or refunds for unavailable chicks.
​
How Chicks Are Shipped
Newly hatched chicks carry enough yolk reserves to sustain them during shipment. Chicks are shipped Mondays and Wednesdays via USPS and typically arrive at your Post Office within 1–3 days.
​
Birds are boxed according to weather conditions to maximize survival. Additional shipping fees may apply during hot weather to ensure proper packaging.
We ship within the continental United States only. We do not ship to Hawaii or Alaska.

Order Minimums
A minimum of 3 birds is required for all shipped or local pickup orders.

There are no minimums on males, ducks, or turkeys.

Order Changes
We cannot accept partial cancellations after an order has been scheduled. To remove a breed or variety, you must cancel the entire order and submit a new one. Re-ordering does not guarantee the same availability.

To add chicks to an existing order, email service@chasehatchery.com with your order number.
​
Cancellations
A $20 cancellation fee applies to any scheduled order, and a $5 fee applies to unscheduled orders. Orders become "scheduled" once you are notified of your hatch/ship date. Same-day in-store orders are considered scheduled upon purchase.
Orders cannot be cancelled within 14 days of hatch day.
​
Refunds will be issued minus applicable cancellation fees and may take up to three weeks in rare cases.
​
Vaccinations
Chicks are sold unvaccinated unless Marek’s vaccination is added to a shipped order during checkout. We cannot vaccinate chicks picked up in-store.

Disclaimer
While we strive for accuracy, data or pricing errors may occur. Pricing errors cannot be honored; customers will be asked to pay any difference. All prices are subject to change.

NPIP Certification
The National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) is a voluntary program for breeders and sellers. Chicks shipped across state lines must be NPIP certified. Once chicks enter our store, they are no longer considered NPIP certified.
​
We do not share cardholder data with third parties.
​
Orders are booked only with payment. All orders are first-come, first-served.
