If you love rich, chocolate-colored eggs and want a flock full of beautiful, hardy birds, our Dark Egg Layer Pullets are the perfect choice. These pullets are approximately 16 weeks old, putting them just weeks away from starting to lay—ideal for customers who want deep brown or speckled eggs sooner without raising chicks.
Your assortment may include one or more of the following dark-egg-laying breeds:
French Black Copper Marans
Cuckoo Marans
Welsummers
Barnevelders
…and other dark-layer varieties.
These breeds are known for producing some of the darkest and most beautiful brown eggs you can add to a basket, often ranging from deep terracotta to chocolate brown, with some varieties laying heavily speckled eggs.
For local pickup orders, we will bring a variety of Dark Egg Layer Pullets on your scheduled pickup day, and you’ll be able to select your birds in person from the assortment provided. Because availability varies, we cannot guarantee the number of different breeds you’ll have to pick from.

PICKUP POLICY
Pullet orders for pickup at our Stansbury location are available for pickup on Saturdays.
The Wednesday before your scheduled pickup date, we will send a confirmation email that includes your final order details, verification that your pullets will be ready as expected, and any additional pickup instructions.
All orders must be picked up on the Saturday they are scheduled. Orders not picked up on their scheduled date are considered abandoned and will not be rescheduled or refunded.
